Linda King Writes:
Jaci Spence my dear friend of 27 years passed away on Thursday 21st March, she had long been in a fight she could not win with COPD, and had already long defied the specialist's estimate on her survival, then a recently diagnosed brain tumour intervened. Jaci and her husband Peter were stalwarts of the show scene in the South West and had owned and shown Irish Setters for nearly 40 years, they started off with a number of Fearnley bitches from Pat & Barry Rhodes and first came to me for a puppy in 1987, I think they had four from us, including one of the 'K' litter who won BPIS at the SEISC Open Show at Wincanton in 1998, before breeding their own stock, I think their most successful dog would be Springle Nereus JW ShCM who won a Res CC and gave them a great deal of fun, Jaci was a teacher of children with special needs, a rounded, sociable and forthright character who enjoyed her dogs immensely and her outings to Dog shows.
Many will remember their lovely house on the A303 and have been fortunate to enjoy Jaci and Peter's hospitality.
Sincere Condolences to Peter and their three lovely daughters, I will certainly miss her dreadfully.
Her Funeral is at 12.40, on Thursday 4th April at Yeovil Crematorium .
