Misha was born from a very nice litter of 6, 3 dogs & 3 bitches Born 12 August 2002. We made the choice of which bitch to keep, never thinking she would have such an illustrious career, but it hasn’t all been highs. Before starting her show career while out excercising she got disorientated and ran back out of the field onto the busy main road, fortunately the cars stopped, while some people had got out to try and catch her to no avail, she was eventually shooed into the golf course and Will got her safely back to us. This of course could have been the end before it had begun.

We took her to her first Open Show and she had been going to training classes and doing not too badly, when it was her time for the judge to go over her she just about did cartwheels and wouldn’t let the judge anywhere near her, we tried a few more open shows and she was the same, one judge even told us we would never get her in the ring. At another show a friend took her in the ring for us and she was really quite good, infact that was her first 1st, we were able to show her after that for a while but when she was in Junior decided to act up again and wouldn’t let judges go over her. Fortunately, she has always been happy on the move even when she wouldn’t let a judge near her so we didn’t have to work on that. We decided then that we would have to take her out the ring and see if we could work this problem out and with some good advice and hard work for about 6 months we got her back in the ring, her first show back was Crufts 2004, we had entered an Open Show a few weeks before for a “trial run” but she was in season and obviously couldn’t take her so Crufts it was, I was so nervous about how she would be, it was a big Special Yearling class and she coped quite well with the judge, then went on to win the class. Her next show was ISBC in Yearling also and to our amazement she won the RCC. For the rest of that year she worked her way through the classes doing very well then 2005 at just 3 years of age had won 4 CC’s and 1 RCC.

Christmas Day that year was the worst time of our lives when wakened early in the morning to find Misha ill, by late morning she was in the Veterinary Hospital with Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, after a few days she picked up slightly and then in the morning call we were advised that she had haemorrhaged over night and we really feared we were going to lose her but the little fighter that she is rallied round and we got her home after 8 days in the hospital. She was a poor wee soul by then but we were so happy to see her standing with the nurse and wag her tail at us. All we wanted to do then was to get her fit and well. She made a full recovery and by September 2006 she was back in the ring taking 3 RCC’s that year.

2007 was a most spectacular year achieving 14 CC’s 5 RCC’s, 5 BOB, BIS at MISS, ISCS, RBIS NEEISC & Setter & Pointer, as far as we can ascertain on record the most CC’s won by a bitch in a single year. Because of Misha’s illness we delayed taking a litter from her earlier we were advised to at least let her have a couple of seasons before mating her, the season that we were going to mate her worked out puppies would be due to go to new homes at Christmas so we delayed it until her next one. Puppies were born 2nd June 2008 to now Sh Ch Ir Sh Ch Northamber Just Cause for Glenavna JW, she had 2 puppies naturally then had to have a caesarian, she had 4 dogs 3 bitches but before all that she won a further 3 CC’s and 2 RCC’s.

Misha’s first show back after her litter was in January 2009 winning the CC, she has won a further 5 CC’s 4 with BOB, BIS at ISCW and 2 RCC’s. At present she has equalled the Bitch Breed Record with Sh Ch Glendronach Girl with 27 CC’s. At Darlington Championship Show having won the RCC and now 7 years of age she was Best Veteran in Breed, she went on to win Best Veteran Gundog Group and unbelievably was Best Veteran in show.

It has to be said Will and I have celebrated every CC & RCC with a bottle of Champagne and enjoyed every moment of this “Special Girl”, who Will has always referred to Misha as “His Wee Star”.

Many, Many thanks to all who have thought so highly of Misha to have made all this possible.
