Danaway Bachelor Boy 'Kyle'
28-03-2000 ~ 11-11-2009
(Stud Book Number 3928CS)
Tribute To A Best Friend
Sunlight streams through window pane
unto a spot on the floor....
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound....
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours....
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.
Dougie Hunter Writes
“Words cannot describe how numb and hurt we are all feeling at the sudden unexpected passing of a truly majestic dog on 'Remembrance Day'. Our beloved ‘Kyle’ AKA Danaway Bachelor Boy (bred by Mary and the late Brian Gurney) was our new millennium addition to our young family and he gave us so much joy during a near decade of happiness. Unfortunately ‘Kyle’ was diagnosed with inoperable tumours within his intestines, liver and chest following a very short illness in which he never showed any signs of being ill until 5 days before he died. He was always a fit and healthy dog who took the long daily walks and runs in his stride therefore it was a major shock that this has happened to him.
To sum up ‘Kyle’ in a few words he was a striking, stunning & beautiful Irish setter on the inside and out admired by so many people. First and foremost he was a loyal family pet who was placed consistently at both open and championship shows despite only being lightly shown in the ring. He was everything a family could wish for and so much more...it’s so heartbreaking to lose him.
We are now down to one Irish setter 18-month old ‘Bleu’ AKA Sametsuz Scriptwriter however my heart goes out to him as he is missing ‘Kyle’ so much and always looked up to his great master”…
A 'Big Thanks' to Mary and Brian Gurney for breeding such a wonderful boy...
