North East of England Irish Setter Club
Statement on Cross-Breeding of Irish Setters
All UK Irish Setter breed clubs collectively are dedicated to the health, wellbeing and welfare of the Irish Setter. Irish doodles for example are nothing more than expensive crossbreeds (mongrels) misleading the general public as being described as so called Designer Dogs. The NEEISC is totally opposed to cross-breeding of the deliberate crossing of Irish Setters and Poodles or with any other breed. These cross breed dogs will no doubt be prone to the genetic diseases of both breeds.
We feel if you like the Irish Setter buy a pure breed Irish Setter, if you like the Poodle buy a pure bred Poodle, please do not buy or mix these lovely breeds together
