First I would like to thank the committee for inviting me. I really enjoyed my short visit to England. A big thank you to exhibitors for bringing me such a super entry.
I had some really lovely dogs to go over. Attention has to be paid to flat and loose feet and lack of bone in many. Also please watch the croups and tail carriages in some cases.
Irish Setter
Puppy 6
Not an easy class as the types varied a lot.
1.Humphreys’ Henaleas Carry on Flirting
Liked this girl a lot. My notes say pretty headed girl with lovely expression. Lovely neck and shoulder, nice top line but would prefer her a bit longer overall. Good sternum , lovely front but still needs to sink into her quarters. That will come with age. Good bone, feet could be tighter. Moved soundly. Nicely handled.BP and PG2
2 Cardwell´s Kirkavagh The Wizard
Different in type, scored in topline and angulation and a really good mover. Lovely colour . Today lacking in pigmentation around the eye. A very promising young boy.
3.Humphreys & Oliver´s Henaleas Uptown Flirt at Bramstorm
Special yearling 8 (3)
1.Elkins’ Avacet Snowbird
Lovely bitch so very well constructed and with a beautiful head to go with it. Lovely topline, really good front and all round angulation. Well bodied. Feet could be better. She won the class on the move, striding out well. One I would like to see again in full feather!
2. Pullen&Atkin´s Harvancourt Herlem at Jacingail
An eyecatcher standing, well constructed, beautiful head and in lovely dark shiny coat. Would just love to see him stride out a bit more and stop throwing his tail. I am sure this will sort itself out as he matures. Well handled.
3.Humphreys Millcroft Moongem of Henaleas
Novice 5 (1)
Tapper´s Kedalita Butterfliy Maiden
Pretty little girl , sweet head. Nice neck and shoulder. Good angulation. Moved well just needs training to look the part.
2.Tappers Kedalita Aeracura
Post Graduate 10(4)
1.Waterton´s Lynwood Kissed By An Angel at Sandstream JW
Super feminine girl with a really pretty head. Lovely elegant neck, clean shoulder gently sloping top line , nice croup and tail set. Really good front and rear angulation, enough sternum .Well ribbed but I would like to see her with a bit more weight on. Standing on good bone and feet. Not in her very best coat . Moved soundly with lashing tail, would just love to see a bit more sparkle. Unlucky to meet today’s BOB winner. RBOB and BOS.
2.Harris’ Konakakela Suede´s Spirit
Classic typy dog , nice head , long neck into good shoulder , nice topline. Could do with a better return of upper arm . Well angulated behind. A bit short in ribcage. Moved ok.
3.Pullen´s Seowns Argyle
Open 12 (4)
1. Kennedy´s IR SH CH Glennara Coer de Lion JW
Super young dog, very elegant built on clean lines. Lovely classic head with gentle expression, arched neck flowing into clean shoulders and a beautiful topline. Good sternum but would like a bit better return of upper arm. Well angulated rear. Good body for age. Lovely muscletone on this boy. Super coat and condition. He really came alive on the move covering the ground effortlessly. He must have a bright future!!! Happy to see him go BOB and later BIG!!
2.Crosswell´s Gwendariff Mr Notice Me JW
Of a different type than my winner but with lots to like. He is a very sound dog and so well presented. Beautiful head, clean neck and shoulder just falls off a bit too much for me over the croup. Very good front and rear angulation, Well bodied. Lovely dark shiny coat. Moved really well!
3.Evans Brabrook Titanias Dream at Neathamhill
English Setters
Special yearling 6 (2)
1. Montell’s Culverwell Summer Sequel
Pretty feminine bitch , lots of attitude. Lovely head and expression, good neck leading into clean shoulders. Well angulated front and rear, needs to spring in rib cage. Standing on good feet but would prefer a bit more bone and substance. Happy on the move with a lovely lashing tale. BOB
2. Murray´s Harvancourt´s Miracle.
Lovely but very boisterous male puppy. Masculine head with good chiselling and sweet expression. Neck needs to clean up. Nice shoulder and top line. Good body, nice bone and feet, adequate angulation for his age. Gave his handler a hard time but his qualities became clear on his effortless movement. Best Puppy.
3.Cozens Mandyset Blue Murder at Earldoms
Graduate 3
1.Birch & West´s Quensha Healing Hands
Mature bitch, well bodied adequate angulation. Well off for bone.
Headpiece slightly strong for me and she is a bit throaty. Moved well using her tail.
Open 2
Montell ´s Culverwell Summer Colours
Pretty girl, lovely head and expression. Nicely angulated , good chest but could do with a bit more body and a firmer topline. In super coat. Moved well. Lovely temperament.
