Critique - Judge - Patricia Pike

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers and committee of the club for inviting me to judge their open show at Yatton Keynell and to the exhibitors for entering their dogs.

Minor Puppy Dog 3 (2 abs)

1. Childs Tredura Val Verdi -7 month old puppy, stood alone. Gentle expression, in good coat, good rear angulation. Needs to settle in the ring.

Puppy Dog 5 (2abs)

1. Rutherford Judge & Brends Devacott Temptation To Clonageera – Mature 9 month old puppy, with great ring presence.In excellent coat & condition. Striking outline masculine head with dark eye & good reach of neck. Moved well with drive .Best Puppy Dog
2. Roberts & Cormack’s Sangarah Shared Romance with Polmennor –Not as mature and balanced as winner and not quite so coordinated at this stage but quality dog, pleasant head and gentle expression. Dark coat in good condition.

Junior Dog 3

1. Partridges Kerrydown One Man – 16 month old mature dog, handsome masculine head. Lovely dark eye, good length of neck. Deep chest, well balanced and good angulation. Moved well with drive when settled.
2. Willis Gwendariff Thyme Bombe at Jacwillins-More mature than winner but preferred head of 1.Excellent tail set in good coat and condition. Moved well.
3. Hyslops Gwendariff Justin Thyme

Yearling Dog 6(3abs)

1. Prangles Heathclare Old Glory JW –Mature 23 month old dog that was in excellent coat .Masculine head with good reach of neck & firm topline.Moved well with drive and handled well.
2. Condrons Pullen & Atkins Covarney Flapjack-Nice dog , darker coat than winner, masculine head, dark eye but not so positive on the move & took time to settle.

1. Peters Polmennor Funtime ShCM –A truly lovely dog, my star of the day who won a very strong class and went on to be Best Dog & Best In Show. Just the right size for me with a really beautiful but masculine head and a true Irish expression. Low set ears of good length, nice depth to chest and a true straight front with good rear angulation. Perfect topline which he held well on the move. Moved well with drive and animation. Well done.
2. Fitzmaurice’s Brinara Independence.-Younger more substantial dog with more coat and feathering but preferred overall conformation of winner of class. Masculine head dark eye with good reach of neck. Moved well.
3. Condrons Special Brew for Covarney.

Limit Dog 3

1. McDonaghs Ronzalda Figaro –Impressive dog, lovely head & expression. Low set ears & good reach of neck. Coat in good condition, correct tails set & good rear angulation.
2. Gardner’s Mayfred Mr Moondance – Smaller dog with less coat and shorter in back than 1.Masculine head, low set ears & straight front. Moved well.
3. Childs Tredura Clandestine Affair

Open Dog 3 (1 abs)

1. Roddas Teramour Going For Gold -7 years old. Tall dog but very balanced. Good head & dark eye. Good reach of neck, deep chest and excellent shoulders. Correct tail set and good rear angulation. Expertly handled Rest Best Dog, Best Veteran Dog & Best Veteran In Show.
2. Byrne Edwards & Howletts Siochanna Irish legend ShCM –Another veteran, shorter coupled dog in good coat moved well and again expertly handled.

Veteran Dog 4 (1abs & 1 withdrawn)

I had a beautiful well known dog in this class but he did not like moving on the slippery floor and was sportingly withdrawn by his owner.Thankyou for entering your lovely dog under me.

1. Halls Glennara Never Can Tell – Mature young lady now 10 months old. Lovely head with a beautiful soft expression and dark eye. Striking outline and a beautiful overall shape. Good rear angulation and straight front. Loved the movement in her coat which was in good condition. Moved well. Best puppy bitch and Best Puppy in Show.
2. Mugfords Sangarah Skyline over Lynwood.-Smaller bitch than 1 but a lovely shape, very feminine with a pretty head with a sweet expression. Good length of neck moved well.
3. Hyslops Gwendariff on a Rollercoaster.

Junior Bitch 6 (2 abs)

1. Watertons Sandstream Summer Breeze – Very feminine pretty girl loved her head & expression. In good coat & condition, nice straight front and deep chest. Good rear angulation & correct tailset.Handled well and moved well.
2. Partridges Kerrydown Octavia –More substantial girl, well off for coat & feathering. Very feminine but preferred the front on the winner. Moved and handled well.
3. Byrne Edwards & Howletts Siochanna Celtic Charm

2. Prangles Heathclare Que Sera Sera- Longer cast bitch, good shape & top line .Pretty head & soft expression. Moved and handled well.

1. Lippetts Clonageera Dreams N Visions – Lovely 14 month old bitch in good coat, pretty head and soft expression. Low set ears. Very elegant smooth coat. Good rear angulation, expertly handled at her first show.

1. Condrons Summertime Blues For Covarney –Lovely balanced 3 year old bitch.Pretty feminine head with raised brows and a beautiful expression. Good straight front. Coat in good condition and a lovely rich colour. Moved well.
2. Roberts Lynwood Full Of Grace At Polmennor –Bigger than 1 but balanced. Preferred head on winner but she is still feminine. Good rear angulation moved well.

Post Graduate Bitch 7 (2 abs)

1. Halls Currowhill Tickled Pink With Glennara –Substantial bitch but very balanced. In good coat & condition. Very feminine head, dark eye and good length of neck. Moved well with drive to take the class.
2. Berry & Morris Brinara Vanity Fair JW. –Close decision, preferred her overall size to winner. Good reach of neck pretty head & soft expression Moved well.
3. Fox’s Millcroft Bubbling Moon.

Limit Bitch 7 ( 4 abs )

1. Condron & Mortimers Covarney Echo. –Just the right size for me. Beautiful head. Long elegant neck. Good firm topline which she held on the move. Gave her handler a hard time but once she settled she moved well.
2. Phillips Derrydore Woodlark.- Pretty feminine bitch, preferred topline and shape of winner. Needs to lose a little weight. Good rear angulation, moved well..
3. Allums Macaria Sweet Dancer.

Open Bitch. 7 ( 1 abs)

1. Gardner’s Thendara Jocasta.-A beautiful elegant lady with a very feminine head. Long slender neck, straight front and good rear angulation. In good coat, moved well and handled expertly.BestBitch & Reserve Best In Show.
2. Halls Shenanagin Stardrift At Glennara JW ShCM –Very close decision, pretty head and sweet expression. Darker in coat, straight front & excellent tail set. Moved well.
3. Partridges Tsitsikama Glen Acacia ShCM.

Veteran Bitch 7  (2 abs )

1. Foxs Satlas Bleu Eyes – A favourite of mine who I have judged before. Is now 10 years old , but moves beautifully & holds her topline well. Very pretty head & expression, good reach of neck. Lots of coat and feathering, in good condition and obviously enjoying her day out.
2. Prangles Heathclare Blin Kin Magic.- 7 year old girl, preferred head of winner. Balanced bitch who moved well and was expertly handled.
3. Roberts Polmennor Willow Pattern.
