Firstly I would like to say thank to the committee for the appointment and also to all the exhibitors who entered and to those that made the effort to come out on the day. I thoroughly enjoyed judging some quality Irish Setters.

Puppy (1,1)

1. Jarvis’ Lowden Too Darn Hot – lovely 6 month old puppy at his first show. Very well behaved and moved solidly. Balanced head and lovely kind expression. Correct lay back of shoulders and good rear end. Shows potential. BPIB and pleased to see that he was awarded Group 4 in the group.

Junior (1,0)

Post Graduate (5,3)

This was a very strong class and very close in all placings. All 3 had good qualities and merits.
1. McDonald’s Delsanto Miss Freya – Lovely in outline and moved well. Slightly lacking in coat but highlighted her outline. Correct lay back of shoulders and good stifle. Gentle sloping topline. Lovely head and expression. Well balanced. RBOB
2. Walker’s Thendara Soul Sister – Very similar in head and outline to 1. Moved well with drive. Shoulders and stifle correct. Lost out to 1 purely in outline whilst stood.
3. Byard, Milligan-Bott & Lauwers Oakdene Phenomenal With Thendara (Imp Bel)

Open (3,2)

This was a very nice class, and both showed their full potential.
1. Stevenson’s Lochlorien True Detective Is Andley – Presented in beautiful condition. Beautiful head and expression. Correct lay back of shoulders and correct stifle. Gentle sloping topline. Moved with drive and precision. Well balanced and beautiful when stood freely after moving. BOB
2. Jarvis’ Lowdon Sleepy Time – Very similar to 1 but slightly finer and slightly less coat. Moved well and constructed well. Lovely outline and lovely head and expression.
