Critique - Judges: Bitches: Sandra Nevitt

It was such a pleasure to be given the opportunity to judge at this show, the hospitality was excellent, the gift from the club was very much appreciated and a friendly atmosphere prevailed at the show. Thank you to my very efficient stewards Martin Russell and Paula Lucas for keeping everything in order.  I had some close decisions to make but all my placings were accepted with good grace and it was lovely to hear the applause round the ring. Unfortunately in the younger classes some of the bitches were very unsettled by the door banging, such a shame.   Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing their lovely bitches.

MINOR PUPPY BITCH 7 (1)

1 Bougens Gwendariff Hot Ticket   A six month old bitch that performed well. Pretty head with dark eye, good reach of neck, well angulated and steady on the move.

2 Sharmans  Kerrimere Red Ribbon   a smaller bitch, good straight front, nice depth throughout. Not as steady as 1 on the move.

3 Danks-Kemish Alofrana Red Hot Rumours

PUPPY BITCH 13 (3)

1 Mugfords Lynwood Abracadabra  This breeder consistently produces a nice type and this puppy is no exception, she is  well balanced and lovely from every angle. Very pretty. Loved her shape, gentle sloping topline, good depth of chest,  short from hock to heel, ample bone. BPB. Pleased to hear she gained her JW today, well done, shall watch her with interest

2 Catlings Teleri Here Comes Summer (AI) Nice type of bitch, pretty head with low set ears.  Good bend of stifle and width of second thigh, very happy on the move. Close decision between 2 and 3, but 2 just more mature.

3 Davies Lochfrae Nina Simone

JUNIOR BITCH 15 (2)

1 Mutchs Romarne Galway Girl at Astleyview    Well made bitch with dark coat,  good angulation and well developed second thigh. She presented a striking outline when shown by the handler, the owner doesn’t get the best from her. She won this class on her movement, very eye catching on the move and headed up a very nice class.

2 Framptons Strathmead Noella   A smaller bitch than the first. Liked her for type, thought she was very feminine, refined in head,  good reach of neck into clean shoulders, good depth throughout, appealed in outline, shorter coupled than 1

3 Grattons Glenlaine Mrs Tiggy Winkle

YEARLING BITCH 10 (1)

1 Hinsleas Gwendariff Guess Who’s Coming to Northamber   Mature bitch, well coated. Balanced head with good finish to the foreface, a kind but mischievous expression. Ample bone and substance and well put together, ample spring of rib, short from hock to heel and moved well with good tail action to win this class

2 Evans, Crocker & Siddles Riverbrue Keepsake    Upstanding bitch with good outline, shorter coupled than 1.  Pleasing head with good reach of neck, gentle sloping topline which is desirable in our breed and well made made forequarters.

3 Hemmings Orlanset Foxy Lady

2 Elkins Twoacres Promise of Spring with Avacet   Elegant bitch with clean outline. Appealing in head, low set ears, and good reach of neck. Well balanced in body properties. Straight front, Moved well

3 Dow’s Shenanagin Stolen Kiss

GRADUATE BITCH 10 (2)

1 Bott, Allen & Morgans Quensha Tumble and Twirl JW   Liked this bitch for her balance and ring presence. Pleasing in head with arched neck into well laid shoulders, correct angulation throughout, well developed quarters, tight feet. Presentation immaculate, handled and and moved really  well.

2 Naylor & Morrisons Anlory Carignan JW    This bitch left her coat at home but there was nothing to hide, a well constructed and elegant girl with a lovely outline, sweeping stifle, short hocks and neat feet.  Very happy on the move with good use of her tail. Close decision between these two bitches, 1 was just more mature.

3 Chorley-Newton & Chorley & Flinders Pawsword Peppermint for Kerryfair

POST GRADUATE BITCH 15 (4)

1 Wilsons Coppers Snowqueen (Imp Swe)   This bitch has really matured  now and presents a very balanced picture. Loved her shape and topline, feminine throughout, no hint of coarseness. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Moved well to win this lovely class.

2 Taylors Danaway Goody Two Shoes    Nice sized bitch with feminine head, raised brow,  kind eye and low set ears. Clean outline with the desired topline.  Good forehand and rear angulation, stood on neat feet and moved well.

3 Berry & Morris Brinara Lowri JW

MID LIMIT BITCH 5 (1)

1 Mugfords Sangarah Skyline over Lynwood (Imp Hun) JW   Always loved this bitch and did not disappoint on going over her. Out of coat but that did not detract, nothing to hide, a compact bitch that is well constructed and appealing in type, nothing exaggerated.  Very pretty head,   good depth of forechest and so well balanced. Moved out well

2 Crocker & Siddles Riverbrue Gloriana   Glamorous bitch, plenty of coat and substance. Everything just flows from her neck to her well defined quarters, good depth and rib, a real show girl with a lot to like about her.   A very close decision, just preferred 1 in head.

3 Griffins Danaway Love Song for Corriebran  JW

LIMIT BITCH 11 (4)

1 Walters Dreamerlis Regal Jodie from Deneil    A pretty bitch with gentle expression, just starting to show a bit of grey. Have always admired this girl from the ringside for her outline and shape, just a nice size, everything is in moderation, no exaggeration at all. Firm topline with well set on tail.  Moved really well to beat another two lovely bitches.

2 Berry & Morris Brinara Vanity Fair JW   Really liked this bitch and it was a close decision between her and the first. Presents a lovely shape, arched neck leading to gently sloping topline, balanced throughout, straight front and good depth, nicely angulated quarters,  well muscled and shown in lovely condition.

3 Box’s Bardonhill Afternoon D’Lite at Fernstart

OPEN BITCH 8 (2)

1 Armitage Sh Ch Gwendariff Coco Nut Cream  A very eyecatching bitch who cannot be ignored. Glamour combined with correct construction and substance.  She possesses excellent forearm and rear angulation. Firm topline which she kept on the move,  good tailset, and well defined hocks.  Shown in fabulous condition and moved with drive from her powerful hindquarters.  Pleased to award her the RCC and then  RBIS

2 Sturrocks Sh Ch Forfarian Hey Sexy Lady JW    I have always been a fan of naughty Nancy, beautiful head, dark eye, raised brow and that soft Irish expression with a hint of naughtiness!  She’s a racy bitch with sound construction, loved her overall shape,  left her coat at home but nonetheless presented a very attractive picture.

3 Catlings Sh Ch Shandwick Love in a Mist for Teleri JW

VETERAN BITCH 4

1 Kolbachs Ch Copper’s Wine’N Roses (Imp Swe)  This bitch has it all for me, I have always admired her and was so pleased to be given the chance to judge her today. She just oozes breed type, is very feminine and this combined with enough substance and bone make her irresistible to me. She has a quizzical and mischievous expression only enhanced with her grey coming through.  Displays a lovely shape, well ribbed, well developed thigh and short from hock to heel, in really good muscular condition.  It is such a joy to see her moving round the ring with drive and the rapport she has with her handler brings a lump to my throat. Pleased to award her the  CC, Best Veteran and BIS, well done!!

2 Naylor & Morrisons Sh Ch Anlory Carinena JW  Liked this bitch very much, just unlucky to meet the winner today.  Again a lovely outline with that gently sloping topline,  not exaggerated in any way. Very gentle expression, good reach of neck and clean in shoulders. Moved positively with good use of her tail.

3 Berry & Morris Brinara Briet
