Critique - Judge: Mrs Jane Mugford (Lynwood)
Not as comprehensive critique as I would like it to be but due to the time constraints my notes were rather sketchy especially the bitches. In general I found far too many upright in shoulder with short upperarms, resulting in prancing front action.
The well filled puppy classes in both sexes were a joy, which bodes well for the future.
Veteran D (3,1abs) Two beautiful dogs to start the day.
1st Gardner's Sh Ch Riqitta Authentic, lovely masculine head on good neck & shoulders, well balanced throughout with correct angulations front & back. The stronger in hind movement.
2nd Bott's Bardonhill Storm Moon, excels in head & expression, good length of neck into flowing topline. Deep in brisket, good front movement. Shapely hindquarters but could not match the strength of the winner in action, a shame as he has always been a favourite of mine.
Minor Puppy D (14,3abs)
1st Ciechonska's Aoibbheanne's Spoit F'Choice, lovely moulded head, dark eyes & nice finish to muzzle. Good reach of neck, well angulated fore & hind quarters, deep in body, gently sloping topline. Well arched feet. Strong & free mover.
2nd Caskeys Solar Eclipse At Bluesprings, lovely typical head, correctly made throughout with good bone. Flowing topline which he kept well on the move. Not as forward as the winner but should finish well.
3rd Lucas's Bardonhill Eternal Flame Among Amberlight.
Puppy D (9,2abs)
1st A Spoilt F'Choice.
2nd Longbottom/Stewart-Richie's Gwendariff Unknown Soldier, more elegant in type, excellent head, good reach of neck, correct angulations, would prefer a little more depth & forechest. Good topline standing but not so firm on the move at present. Straight & true in action.
3rd Gratton's Bardonhill Snow Wolf With Glenlaine.
Junior D (12,5abs)
1st Nicholls' Romarne Under Orders, lovely chiselled head, well angulated forequarters, flowing topline, well bent stifles. Excellent condition. Free & active mover. A shame he gets his tail up on the move, otherwise I find him outstanding.
2nd Naylor/Morrison's Romarne Clark Gable Joins Anlory, lovely head a little stronger than winner. Excels in neck, shoulders & topline. Dark gleaming coat. Strong driving movement but a little bowed in front.
3rd Torpy's Fernstart Songwriter.
Yearling D ( 11,3abs)
1st McLarnon's Gwendariff Nuts Aboutu Glenavna JW, excellent head & expression, well angulated fore & hind quarters, deep in brisket, short hocks. Lovely outline, excellent condition. Moved very well. In different company he could of won higher honours & I am sure he will.
2nd Rowbottom's Lanstara Spring Moon, lovely head, well angulated, deep in brisket. Excellent drive on the move maintaining his outline, just a touch narrow all through at the moment.
3rd Willis' Gwendariff Thyme Bomb At Jacwilins JW.
Novice D (13,6abs)
1st R.Clark Gable Joins A. 2nd F. Songwriter, attractive head, just a little strong in skull for me. Lovely neck & shoulders, flowing topline, good croup, well developed second thigh.
3rd B. Snow Wolf With G.
Graduate D (19,6abs)
1st Heron's Caskeys Maestro, a stallion of a dog, beautiful well moulded head. Flowed from his neck to his tail both on the stand & on the move. Deep in body, strong bone right down through his front pasterns. Well developed second thigh. Moved free & true.
2nd Wilkins Margretwoods Gobstopper JW, rangier in type, lovely head, well made throughout with good reach of neck & attractive outline. Moved freely but not the strength behind of the winner.
3rd L Spring Moon.
Post Graduate D (16,3abs)
1st Mitchell's Amblin's Sweet William, lovely elegant dog, smashing head with good finish to muzzle, correct raised brows showing stop, low set ears. Very well balanced & angulated. Excellent hindquarters & topline. In fine condition. Moved true, just needing a touch more drive for higher honours.
2nd Walsh/Foster's Millcroft Chase The Moon, a lovely dog who I have watched throw his chances away in the past, has gained in confidence & today stood & moved to advantage. Good masculine head, excellent construction throughout.
3rd Cuddy's Suteresett Rebel Rouser In Balbriggan.
Mid Limit D (10,1abs)
1st Holley's Wynjill Well I Am JW, lovely headed dog with a soft expression, good neck, well angulated fore & hind quarters, gently sloping topline. Excellent coat condition. Moved well in profile, just a little close behind.
2nd Gratton's Bardonhill Moon River Flows into Glenlaine JW, very much my type of dog, lovely head not overdone in anyway. Correct construction, good topline. Sound mover. Could lose a little weight to advantage.
3rd Cuddy's Aoibheannes Quite The Rebel By Balbriggan JW.
Limit ( 12,4abs)
1st Burbridge/Bouttell's Ixia Josiah At Merryborne, lovely headed dog with gentle expression. Flows from his neck, over gently sloping topline, onto the croup to well carried tail. Superb construction shines out when he stands naturally & everything just fits so well together. Moved very well on a long free stride. CC & BOB.
2nd O'Connor's Caispern Polonius, another beautiful dog with a handsome head, well angulated front & rear, well developed second thigh, used to advantage on the move. Strongly considered in the challenge for reserve.
3rd Cohen's Caispern Lorenzo With Shushana JW ShCm.
Open D (3) All three excellent examples with much to admire.
1st Crocker & Siddle's Sh Ch Copper's War of Roses (imp Swe) just what I look for in head, masculine but not overdone, soft gentle expression. Excellent angulation in fore & hind quarters. Flowing topline. Lovely condition. Free & active mover but front could be a touch tighter. Res.CC.
2nd Milligan-Bott/ Bott's Sh Ch Thendara Pot Noodle JW, I have watched this one at recent shows & thought how much he has improved with maturity. He is a lovely dog to go over & as usual presented in first class order. He seemed to be having an off day today, I have seen him move much better.
3rd Stewart/ Ritchie-Smith's Sh Ch/Ir Sh Ch Gwendariff Whippersnapper JW CW'15.
Special Working Gundog D or B (1)
1st Kolbach's Ch Copper's Wine'N'Roses (imp.Swe) I have previously judged her in Austria where she won BOB & BIS, she still holds the same appeal for me. Pretty head with intelligent expression, lovely reach of neck which blends into topline, excellent angulations, well turned stifles & strong quarters. Superb mover. Not a glamourous girl, never having the feathering of some but her conformation is such everything seamlessly fits together. She is the dam of todays Res. CC winner & is our only current Full Champion, delighted to give her the CC.
Veteran B (4,1abs)
1st Stevenson's Lochlorien Prime Suspect For Andley JW ShCm, pretty head, well angulated & balanced, lovely condition. Moved very well on a free stride.
2nd Driver's Caskeys Star Gazer At Sternwood, close decision, appealed a lot in head, good neck, shapely body. Just lost outline on the move.
3rd Stephenson's Drumwhaur Summer Song.
Minor Puppy B (16)
1st Stewart-Richie's Aoibheanne Smart Move Gwendariff, lovely head, strong bone, deep in brisket, well angulated, balanced throughout creating correct outline. Moved well. Best Puppy.
2nd Ciechonska's Aoibheanne's Say No More, all the same remarks apply, just a little looser in movement. 5 of this litter were entered today, all were placed & of a similar type.
3rd Holley's Wynjill Love Heart.
Puppy B (17,1abs)
1st Bott's Bardonhill Ice Ice Icicle, very pretty head, lovely neck & shoulders, good bone, short hocks. Moved well with good tail action.
2nd A Say no More.
3rd W Love Heart.
Junior B (9,1abs)
1st Berry/Morris' Brinara Lowri, maturing well, very nice head, correctly angulated, well bodied with good depth. Well developed second thigh. Moved well but would prefer better tail carriage.
2nd Morriss-Begg's Gwendariff In Neon Lights Over Sumaric, pretty head, excels in front assembly, lovely outline, moved well.
3rd French's Balintyne Just You Just Me.
Yearling B ( 11,2abs)
1st Armitage's Gwendariff Coconut Cream, gorgeous mature looking bitch, Pretty well worked head, excellent neck & shoulders, firm topline, strong hindquarters with good second thigh, lovely coat & condition. Moved very well but couldn't quite match the CC winners long effortless stride. Res.CC
2nd Jones Gwendariff Nutmeg, I see is litter sister, not the maturity but lovely type, pretty, balanced & moved well.
3rd Waterton's Sandstream Welcome Breeze.
Novice B ( 13,2abs)
1st G.Coconut Cream, 2nd G Nutmeg, 3rd B.Just You Just Me
Graduate B (16,4abs)
1st Driver's Caskeys Mystique At Stearnwood, attractive head, good neck & shoulders, well made body showing very good balance. Best mover.
2nd Box's Bardonhill Afternoon D'Lite At Fernstart, lovely head & expression, well angulated, needs to settle on the move.
3rd Horsthuis' Kerryfair My Girl.

3rd Bayne's Corranroo Rainbow Kisses.
Mid Limit B ( 11,3abs)
1st Bott's Bardonhill Guilty Pleasure, quality head with plenty of work in it. Presented in lovely condition, good reach of neck, correct angulations, strong bone, good second thigh. Moved well.
2nd Humphreys Suteresett Miss Curious About Henaleas JW, very pretty, well angulated front & hindquarters, good over the croup. Moved well.
3rd Sturrock's Forfarian Hey Sexy Lady JW.
Limit B ( 12,4abs)
1st Wheeldon's Bardonhill Carrie Anne For Colemist, lovely head, neck & shoulders. Good topline & strong quarters. moved OK.
2nd Henderson's Suteresett Miss Magic, appealed in head, shoulders & hindquarters. Nice dark coat. Moved OK.
3rd Broadgates Beat The Boys.
Open B ( 5,1abs)
1st Walsh's Sh Ch Millcroft Ballad Of The Moon JW, always appealed to me. Very pretty classic head, well angulated fore & rear quarters. Flows from her nose to her tail. Dark glossy coat. Moved well with pleasing tail action. In the challenge just appeared a little long compared to her height.
2nd Bott/Allen/Morgan's Sh Ch Bardonhill Please Don't Tease Quensha JW, another I really like, not the finish of the winner but a close decision. Again very pretty well moulded head, good reach of neck, well constructed, lovely shapely hindquarters. Excels on the more with good driving action.
3rd Holley's Sh Ch Wynjill Well Known JW.
