Critique - Judge: Bitches: Mona Hunter (Braidmount)

I would like to thank the Committee for the opportunity to judge this prestigious Breed Club and of the hospitality bestowed on us. I would also like to thank my two stewards for their assistance in keeping the smooth running of the classes.

I was a little perturbed at the movement in the younger classes bearing in mind they are the future, in the upper classes I’m afraid a lot of overweight girls, I like to see a waistline, having said all that I was very pleased with my winners and other placings.

In agreement with my Co-judge, Joan Northend BIS to Sh Ch Copper’s War Of Roses, and RBIS, Best Veteran In Show to Sh Ch Millcroft Ballad Of The Moon JW, BPIS to Gwendariff D’Ya Know My Name by Bardonhill, well done to all.

MPB 7, (3)

1st. Morriss-Begg’s Susie Snapshot By Thendara, Nicely balanced pup with good clean outline and well set tail, deep chested, good front and rear angulation, nicely headed with lovely expression and nice low earset. Good thick wavy coat, neatest of feet and moved well.

2nd. Frampton’s Strathmead Mulberry, Another nicely balanced pup with good outline, a lovely rich dark coat, she has good width over her strong quarters which she used on the move, lovely neat feet, very pretty balanced head. 1 & 2 I’m sure will swap places.

3rd. O’Connors Romarne Lady Chatterley of Caispern

PB 8, (1)

1st. Pike’s Redclyst Glenury Lady Of The Lake, Lovely elegant puppy of good size with good body properties, lovely lean neck into shoulders, good depth of chest, strong quarters used well, held her head well when on the move, prettiest of heads with lovely dark eye, lovely low earset, good rich coat. Pleased to award her BPB, just looked a little immature next to PD for BPIS.

2nd. Meadow’s Gwendariff D’Ya Likeme Best, Nicely balanced young girl, another with strong quarters, good outline and well set tail, balanced head with nice expression and lovely low earset. She has a good rich coat and nice feet, moved well round the ring.   Again think those 2 will swap places on other occasions

3rd. O’Connors Romarne Lady Chatterley of Caispern

JB 14 (3)

1st. Holley’s Wynjill Loveheart, I’m sure this young lady has a bright future ahead, quite mature with a really striking outline and in lovely coat and condition, excellent lean neck into correct shoulders, good angles fore and aft and moved very well although needs to tighten a little in front, nicely balanced head with low earset and pretty expression. She won Maiden & Novice also and lots of “Easter Eggs”.

2nd. Milby & Stewart Ritchie’s Gwendariff We’ll Rememberu, Really like this young lady and was unlucky to meet winner today, she has a very elegant outline and moves effortlessly, not quite as forward as 1, prettiest of heads on lovely neck into shoulders, good width over her quarters, nice short hocks and neat feet.

3rd. Bott’s Bardonhill Come On Eileen,

YB 9 (4)

1st. Mugford’s Sangarah Skyline Over Lynwood (Imp Hun)JW, Small compact bitch of nice type, could have been bred by owner and moved with style, her weight will have to be watched because of her neatness, she is so well made all through, everything just fits together, she has a lovely rich coat, prettiest of heads, good deep chest and strong quarters and stands on neat feet, moved beautifully round the ring.

2nd. Berry & Morris’ Brinara Lowri JW More substantial young lady of nice shape and in profuse coat for one so young which was in excellent condition, lovely balanced head with nice expression and lovely low earset, nice angulations and deep chest. Movement lets her down at the moment but sure this will improve with time.

3rd. Cooper’s Karidell Mayden Voyage to Hugared

MB 17 (4)

1st. Holley’s Wynjill Loveheart.

2nd. Bott’s Bardonhill Come On Eileen, a respectable 3rd in junior class, smaller more compact bitch, not as mature as 1 but lots to like, prettiest of heads with soft expression, nice rich coat, lovely outline, good shoulder placement, just felt a little short of neck, moved very nicely round ring.

3rd. Humphreys Anlory Corvinone at Heneleas.

NB 11 (6)

1st. Holley’s Wynjill Loveheart.

2nd. Bott’s Bardonhill Come On Eileen

3rd. Humphreys Anlory Corvinone at Heneleas.

UGB 11 (2)

1st. Jones’ Gwendariff Nutmeg, very nice 2 year old girl with the loveliest rich dark coat in good condition, lovely balanced head with soft expression, strong outline when set correct, nice balanced head in profile with lovely expression, good width over her quarters, nice front, moved very well and stood on neat feet. Could probably lose a lb or two.

2nd. Hall’s Glennara Never Can Tell, lovely elegant lady just not quite as mature as 1, good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, lovely outline to well set tail, nice head and expression, nice short hocks, moves very well and has a good quality coat.

3rd. Wilkens’ Margaretswood Dolly Mixture.

GB 10 (2)

1st. Box’s Bardonhill Afternoon D’Lite At Fernstart, another young lady when set correctly has a nice outline, quite a compact lady, good front angulation and good width over her quarters, deep chested, would prefer a little more reach of neck, in beautiful coat & condition, stands on neat feet and moved very well.

2nd. Jones’ Gwendariff Nutmeg.

3rd. Chorley-Newton & Chorley’s Kerryfair Spring Moon.

PGB 15 (1)

1st. Gisby’s Suteresett Once Upon A Dream, liked the shape of this girl, good firm outline from lean neck to tailset, pleasant head with low earset, good width and angulation on her quarters, moved very well, with rich dark shiny coat.

2nd. Powis’ Amberwave Feather JW, bigger made bitch all through and preferred her head to 1 which is well balanced with lovely expression, nice low earset, good front and width over her quarters, moves effortlessly round the ring, in lovely bloom.

3rd. Brady’s Amberlight Guinevere

MLB 15(3)

1st. Humphreys Suteresett Miss Curious about Henaleas JW, Did her well before and haven’t changed my mind, good topline when set correctly!! She is in super coat and condition, well made all through with good strong quarters enabling her to move well, lovely balanced head with soft expression and low ear set, pleased to award her the RCC and good luck for the future.

2nd. Sturrock’s Forfarian Hey Sexy Lady JW, Another young lady I have always liked and was unlucky to meet 1 today, in super condition and just love the way she “talks” while going round the ring, she moves with style, attractive head with cheeky expression and low earset, good width to her quarters, just felt today she was a tad heavy over the shoulders. I’m sure her title will not be too far off.

3rd. Walters’ Dreamerlis Regal Jodi From Deneil.

LB 17 (6)

1st. Bayne’s Corranroo Rainbow Kisses, this nearly 4 year old lady was in superb coat and condition and certainly could move, nice topline but owner has to be careful not to overstretch her, good front and rear angulations, stands on neat feet, pleasant head with soft expression.

2nd. Morriss-Begg’s Thendara Chasing Boys To Sumaric, have admired this young lady for some time and was unlucky to meet 1 today on such good form, she has a lovely shape and good topline, nice dark rich coat, excellent body properties, attractive balanced head with low earset and kind expression. I feel she has to mature a little more and then will trouble the best.

3rd. Henderson’s Sametsuz In A Fankle

OB 4 (1)

1st. Holley’s Gwendariff Soda Pop To Wynjill, another elegant girl in lovely coat and condition, good front and strong quarters, deep chest, stands on neat feet, nicely balanced head with low earset, moved around the ring with style.

2nd. Elkins’ Sh Ch Avacet Snowbird, well made bitch all through of good type, very understated, attractive head with lovely expression and low earset, moved out well but just felt she was carrying a bit extra weight which she doesn’t need.

3rd. Broadgate’s Riverman Beat The Boys.

VB 3

1st. Walsh’s Sh Ch Millcroft Ballad Of The Moon JW, A young veteran and lady I have always admired, she has a good strong topline to well set tail, good front and width over her strong quarters which she uses well, deep chest, lovely balanced head, she was in lovely coat and condition, she is a fidget but her handler handled her well and I was proud to award her the CC. She was my “Star” today. Her day finished with being RBIS & BVIS with the agreement of my co-judge. Very well done.

2nd. Hillocks’ Jonola Love & Liberty, this nearly 9 year old still carries herself well although just carrying a little extra weight, really enjoyed herself and moves well, good topline and tailset, well made all through, attractive head with soft expression and the odd speck of grey which only enhances her appeal, in lovely dark coat.

3rd. Brady’s Reddins Frolic among Amberlight.
