Critique - Judges: Dogs: Mrs S Chorley-Newton (Kerryfair)

It was an honour to be asked to judge at this show. Thank you to the Committee and my very efficient stewards on the day. Thanks also to the exhibitors for the lovely entry and for bringing your dogs to me presented so well. From the last time I judged Dogs I found that the front angulation in most has improved greatly which is lovely to see. I was very happy with my line up.

Minor Puppy Dog 10 entries 2 absent

1 Danks-Kemish, Teleri  Summertime Blues Avec  Alolfrana (AI)  - Loved the outline of this puppy. Dark coat with lots of movement which I loved. Long arched neck. Good angulation front and rear. Excellent croup and tail set. Could teach some of the big boys how to move. Super puppy.

2 Butler-Holley, Teleri Summer Wine at Shandwick (AI) – Good outline and confirmation. Moved well. Breeder must be very proud of these 2 puppies. At the moment, I prefer the refinement in head of 1.

1. CC & BIS, Crocker & Siddle, SH CH Copper’s War Of Roses (imp Swe) – What can you say about this dog that hasn’t been said? For me, he epitomises the breed standard. Not overdone in any way. Wistful expression, but with a hint of Irish charm showing through his lovely raised brows. He is so balanced and just flows. Breath taking outline both standing and on the move. Shown in excellent hard condition, presented and handled to perfection. The phrase ‘wish he was mine’ has never been more apt. DCC & BIS in agreement with my co judge. Many congratulations.
2. Mitchell, SH CH Amblin’s Sweet William – Slightly larger dog. Lots to like. Long arched neck with refined head and soft appealing expression. Great front and bone. Moved well. Shown in good coat. Worthy Show Champion.
3. Sturrocks, SH CH Forfarian I’m Sexy An I Know It JW
