Thank you so much for bringing your beautiful dogs. I had been looking forward to this appointment for a long time; however, as many will know, just 36 hours before I was due to judge I received a heart-breaking diagnosis for my precious Blanche –  she’s is doing very well at the moment. I would like to thank exhibitors and friends for their understanding; it wasn’t an easy day, and I nearly lost it a couple of times, but I could feel the support from everyone which really helped me to continue. My thanks must also go to the show management for their invitation and, also, for their concern on the day and to my very efficient stewards for their help.

On a brighter note: I was truly delighted with my entry, some really stunning dogs and bitches – it was lovely to hear the cheers from spectators.

MPD (3,0a)

1 Gisby’s Suteresett King Of Hearts, handsome boy, raised brow and slightly mischievous expression, well-proportioned and balanced, good depth and super bone, correct tailset, moved with enthusiasm and really well for one so young.

2 Lorrimer’s Kerrimere Classique, a little more streamlined in outline, good head with excellent plains, well ribbed back, correct topline and tailset, great width to thigh; just a tad less coordinated on the move but, at 7 months, plenty of time.

3 Lewis’ Glenlaine Squirrel Nutkinn at Valasarch

PD (7,2)

1 Holley’s Wynjill Winner Takes All, kind expression with raised brow on this lad, elegant with good angulation front and rear, excellent depth, good tight feet, moved really well with good tail carriage, covering the ground with ease for a youngster, such a happy character. BPD

2 Savage’s Brabrook Masterpiece at Firefall, another streamlined dog, good topline, depth and good forechest, bit of a fidget, moved ok

3 Danks-Kemish’s Alolfrana Hotter Than U'know

JD (8,1)

1 Davis’ Pawsword Prairie Wind, mature boy, beautiful head with lovely kind expression, good length of upper arm, well up on pasterns, overall excellent construction with good bone. Firm topline and correct tailset, short hocks, very well balanced - all topped with a lovely coat in super condition. Moved perfectly, particularly for a youngster.

2 Chorley-Newton & Chorley’s Pawsword Priceless to Kerryfair, litter brother and another well-constructed lad; handsome head, good clean neck into shoulder, excellent depth with correct angulation fore and aft, in superb rich chestnut coat, maturing well - another lovely sound mover.

3 Hogarth’s Twoacres Bubbling Spring at Halingswood

YD (3,0)

1 Greenan’s Anlory Aidan JW, very handsome boy with a twinkle in his eye; strong lad with super construction and depth, well ribbed with good angulation and tailset – his topline just flows; in great coat and gleaming condition, plus really on his toes, soundest mover – didn’t put a foot wrong.

2 Cox’s Tiroen Too Darn Hot, Another lovely boy, different in type to 1, just two years at the show, maturing well, attractive head with kind eye, good angulation and gently sloping topline, more racy in profile, possibly a touch enthusiastic on the move, losing a little coordination.

3 Russell’s Strathmead Huckleberry

GD (11,2)

1 Longbottom & Stewart-Ritchie’s Gwendariff Unknown Soldier JW, lovely enquiring head, strong mature lad with super construction, well ribbed back (which was surprisingly lacking in a number of dogs) good angulation throughout, topline held on the move which he did without a problem and impressively, great coat and condition – striking boy.

2 Pym’s Thendara The Watchmaker, different in type, a little more streamlined, attractive head with raised brow and lovely dark eye, correct construction, moved soundly flowing well around the ring.

3 Roberts & Cormack’s Sangarah Shared Romance with Polmennor (Imp)

PGD (11,2) Impressive class, headed by some lovely lads.

1 Lucas’ Bardonhill Eternal Flame Among Amberlight JW, appealing, masculine head with kind expression, low set ears, very elegant, streamlined dog of good stature with everything in the right place, nice tight feet, good depth and angulation, lovely clean gently sloping topline, firm muscle tone, moved really well, in super coat and condition.

2 Cohen’s Aoibheanne's Rough Diamond with Shushana JW, different in type, balanced head with well-defined stop and sweet expression, solid in body but not overdone, well up on pasterns, good angulation and depth throughout, everything in the right place, moved ok

3 Bell & Barker-Bell’s Balintyne Just For You

LD (11,1)

1 Mitchell’s Amblin's Sweet William, my star of the boys ! Refined, lovely head with a wistful expression, elegant outline, super front, great reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulder, correct topline & seamless croup, lovely feet, good depth and angulation throughout, firm hocks giving him the power to move really well, in gleaming coat and condition; have seen and admired many times – thanks so much for the opportunity to judge him. Pleased to award his first CC; in this form, I hope the others follow soon.

2 Walsh & Foster’s Millcroft Chase The Moon to Shanoah, looking better than I've ever seen him; stretched out more, giving a more streamlined impression than usual. Clean topline, good angulation fore and aft and well-muscled, he strode impressively around the ring, well done; considered for RCC but the open winner just had the edge.

3 Bouttell & Burbridge’s Lynwood Lark In The Dark, another favourite – lovely boy.

OD (6,0)

1 Cohen’s Caispern Lorenzo with Shushana JW ShCM, stylish boy with handsome head, raised brow and quizzical expression, lovely clean lines, good depth, spring of rib and width of thigh, in excellent coat and condition, well-made throughout creating a super elegant picture and sound as a pound – powered round the ring - what more could anyone want ? Impossible to resist - well deserved RCC

2 Milligan-Bott & Bott’s ShCh Thendara Pot Noodle JW, superb dog from any angle, handsome head with gentle expression – he looks you straight in the eye, low earset, impressive structure throughout, moved like a train, difficult to fault....just narrowly pipped by 1.

3 Sturrock’s ShCh Forfarian I'm Sexy An I Know It JW

MPB (3,0) Three super babies

1 Henderson’s Sametsuz On Reflection, 8 months and, therefore, more mature than the others; pretty head with kind eye and low earset, clean neck into shoulder with good depth and topline, moved really well and with confidence, lovely to see in one so young.

2 Sturrock’s Forfarian Victoria's Secret, different type to one, slightly longer cast, very much a baby – cheeky expression, good angulation and tailset, super in profile, excellent depth for one so young, love her coat, great potential.

3 Gratton’s Glenlaine Mrs Tiggy Winkle

PB (7,2)

1 Bouttell & Burbridge’s Ixia Rainbow Brite, still at the baby stage, but so appealing in every way - lovely head, good angulation (once she stopped fidgeting), well made throughout, good topline and tailset, in lovely dark coat with promise of more to come, moved soundly, especially for such a youngster. BPB & BP

2 Henderson’s Sametsuz On Reflection

3 Pettifer’s Heathclare Liberty at Crosswest

JB (14,1)

1 Chorley-Newton & Chorley’s Pawsword Peppermint For Kerryfair, exceptionally feminine, such a pretty head and innocent expression, super outline, well up on nice tight feet, excellent depth and lovely coat, moved really well striding out strongly with drive from short hocks, one to watch.

2 Hall’s Riverbrue Ophelia at Glennara, close up to 1, different in type, gentle expression with raised brow, low set ears, very elegant and refined but with substance, good angulation fore and aft, moved well and very soundly showing a correct topline and tailset, everything just flows.

3 Brady’s Pawsword Play With Fire joins Amberlight, another lovely youngster from this super litter, maturing well.

YB (7,0)

1 Chorley-Newton & Chorley’s Pawsword Peppermint for Kerryfair

2 Danks Kemish’s Rappatty Star Light over Alolfrana JW very mature girl, serene expression, good outline and depth throughout, correct tailset... superb mover from strong thighs and short hocks, a pleasure to watch, excellent coat in great condition

3 Morris-Begg, Milligan-Bott & Bott’s Susie Snapshot By Thendara JW

GB (13,3) This class gave me a headache, could have done with more cards, very close between the first two – so much so that I reversed placings.

1 Hall’s Harreds Hettie, well constructed bitch who doesn't always make the best of herself, feminine head, super neck into shoulder leading to lovely balanced and elegant outline, great depth and correct angulation, wonderful to watch on the move – really powerful and flowing,

2 Meadows Gwendariff D'ya Likeme Best JW, Only just pipped by 1, another lovely girl who I have often admired – different in type, but also striking, she has super angulation and depth, so well put together, impressive coat and condition completed the picture, moved out well

3 Clifford’s Swiftlark First Light Over Coppersheen

PG (7,3) Another class with some difficult decisions

1 Brady’s Amberlight Guinevere, clear winner of this class today - need to judge her to fully appreciate her qualities; balanced head with soft expression, she is elegant - but not lacking in substance, clean over the shoulder, good angulation, topline and tailset, moved really well and effortlessly with great confidence.

2 Lanstara Spring Star JW, different type to one, lovely head with gentle expression, well balanced with good depth and bone throughout, in excellent coat and moving soundly, holding her topline.

3 Tapper’s Lynwood Airs N'graces at Kedalita

LB (15,7)

1 Humphreys’ Suteresett Miss Curious about Henaleas JW, have judged this girl before and she just goes from strength to strength; feminine - if slightly cheeky - expression, clean neck into shoulder and good forechest, super depth and spring of rib, correct angulation, topline and tailset, strong quarters, so well constructed, plus in excellent coat and condition. A “spirited” mover – her enthusiasm very nearly blew it – but very impressive once under control. Unlucky to meet open winner - pleased to award her RCC

2 Henderson’s Sametsuz Mak'n Honey JW Very pretty bitch with lovely expression - she really looks you in the eye; good substance, angulation and depth, plus in super condition - both coat and muscle-tone - she moved really well, flowing round the ring. Just pipped one of my favourites to 3rd

3 Walters’ Dreamerlis Regal Jodie from Deneil

OB (6,2)

1 Bott, Allen & Morgan’s Sh Ch Bardonhill Please Don't Tease Quensha JW, bitch I have admired for a long time, so pleased to have the opportunity to judge her now she has matured. Ultra feminine in every way; sweet expression, good reach of neck, angulation, width of thigh, topline, tailset… absolutely balanced, makes a lovely picture standing - everything in the right place, with super coat in great condition. But, when she moves (!) she really comes into her own; powerful but retaining her racy outline, and I just love how she uses her tail – it doesn’t stop wagging, such character! Thrilled to award her CC & BOB, and to hear shortlisted in a super group.

2 Sturrock’s Sh Ch Forfarian Hey Sexy Lady JW, streamlined elegant bitch with lovely expression. She has clean racy lines, really well made with good depth and angulation, coming back into super coat, moved powerfully taking the ring with ease.

3 Gardner’s Thendara Jocasta JW
