Thank you so much to the Committee for inviting me to judge this very well run show. It’s a shame it’s not better supported in most breeds as the organisation is excellent and atmosphere very friendly. Saying that was very pleased to have some high quality dogs to go over. Thank you to the exhibitors giving me the opportunity to go over their dogs.

Irish Setters

Junior (1)

1st Danks-Kemish’s Alolfran True Elegance
Very sweet 9 month old bitch. Stood alone but a lovely picture with pretty feminine head and soft expression, enough stop and low ear set. Good length of neck flowed into well laid back shoulders with adequate front angulation and forechest for her age. Correct rear angulation allowed her to move true out and back with drive.
Best Puppy and Best Puppy In Show Gp 4. (have taken photo off Olivia’s facebook page so credit to whoever took it for her)

1st Heather’s Caskey’s Movie Star at Sixoaks
Well coated 2 year old bitch that presented a balanced overall picture. Another pretty head with nice depth to muzzle and melting Irish eyes. Adequate neck length flowed into good shoulder placement with correct front angulation and depth of forechest. She has a sloping topline with a good tailset. Moves with drive and purpose round the ring. RBOB (photo taken after run in the damp grass)

1st Cohen’s Caispern Lorenzo with Shushana JW ShCM BOB & BIS Gp 3
This 4 year old dog took my eye when stacked and didn’t fail to impress when I went over him. A masculine head with correct planes, not overdone in stop giving a pleasing soft but mischievous expression, long neck into good front angulation, correct forechest with plenty of depth. Excellent spring of rib and enough length in loin. A flowing topline into correct tailset and good turn of stifle completed a very balanced outline overall. Excellent movement from all angles. Very pleased to award him Best of Breed and thrilled to hear he went Best In Show Gp 3.

1st Henderson’s Temynloah Zoe BOB
20 month old bitch. Well balanced and pleasing to the eye. Sweet headed with lovely expression. Clear red colouring with a well pigmented nose. She has good shoulder placement with well-boned legs down to neat feet. Level topline and good tailset, Sound quarters with a nice turn of stifle meant she moved well with purpose. Stood alone but worthy BOB. (sorry no photo)

1st Sh Ch Ravensett Jailhouse Rocks Alolfran JW ShCM BOB

A dog whose career I’ve watched with interest. A pleasure to go over such a quality animal. Stylish 3 year old dark b/b dog. A typical masculine head with good depth to muzzle, correct ear set and very expressive eyes. Well ribbed with good front and rear angulation. Presented in sound muscular condition he moved with drive and owned the ring. Another worthy BOB.

Graduate (2)

1st Pickard’s Florcott Rhymers Rainbow at Gadhelic
A well made 2 year old bitch. Honest head with lovely dark eyes. With adequate neck flowing into good shoulders, deep chest and straight front. Lovely topline and tailset. Nice defined markings. Good bone, nice feet. In good condition and moved well and true.

2nd Hall’s Graylacier Royal Blue
Lovely boy who’d apparently had a scare. Only 2nd time shown and hard work for his handler but nicely put together and worth persevering with.

Open (2, 1a)

1st Moore’s Gadhelic Spirit of the Celt JW
Another quality well balanced bitch with clear markings, presented in excellent condition. A feminine head with adequate neck flowing into well laid shoulders. She scored on her front angulation, forechest, depth of brisket and spring of rib. Her nice rear angles allowed her to move freely and drive strongly around the ring. Happy to award Best of Breed.
