Critique - Judge - Breed- Paul Humphreys (Henaleas)

I would like to thank Coalville & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge Irish Setters and their hospitality on the day. Most of all I would like to thank all those who entered under me as I had some real quality dogs to go over.

Puppy 12/4

What a class to start my day, with some lovely puppies to admire.

1 Milligan-Bott & Bott’s Thendara Tick Tock BP & PG2 - This naughty, but nice, boy stood out to me today. He has a very pleasing head and outline, great front with good upper arm, deep chest, good top line and tail set. Strong rear quarters which he used to advantage striding around the ring. It was great to see the group judge also thought the same giving him PG2.

2 Lucas’ Bardonhill Eternal Flame among Amberlight
3 Parsons’ Braidmount Lake of the Lake at Bransett

Junior 10/4

1 Hall’s Glennara Never Can Tell - This bitch is so pleasing to the eye. Everything there and nothing exaggerated . Very pretty face with softest, expressive eyes. Well sprung rib and deep chested. Good angulation front and rear, short hocks, neat feet. Moved out steadily and soundly.

2 Bell & Barker-Bell’s Balintyne Just For You
3 Lucas’ Bardonhill Eternal Flame among Amberlight

Graduate 11/4

1 Naylor & Morrison’s Anlory Corbieres - Have admired this lady from the first time I saw her in minor puppy and what ring presence she has. Super head plains, kind eyes, raised brow, strong arched neck leading to well laid shoulders. Good front angulation. Strong rear quarters and well developed second thigh. She just glided around the ring effortlessly.

2 Hall’s Glennara Never Can Tell

3 Bell & Barker-Bell’s Balintyne Just For You

Post Graduate 8/1

1 Hemmings’ Orlansett The Rocker JW - Very surprised as I went over this dog as not type I normally go for. He looked a picture stood and was turned out immaculately and in gleaming coat and condition. Nice head, with kind expression and raised brow. Deep chest and full ribbed, well turned stifles, muscled quarters fore and rear. Neat, tight feet. Moved out well holding his topline.

2 Hall’s Glennara Never Can Tell
3 Brady’s Amberlight Guinevere

Open 10/4

1 Foster & Walsh’s Millcroft Chase the Moon – BOB & Grp2. I have always admired this handsome boy. Lovely dark, well conditioned coat. His outline just flows from the tip of his nose through to the tip of his tail. Well arched neck leading into good shoulders. Straight front , well pronounced sternum. Tight padded neat feet. His movement is just so pleasing on the eye as he just moves out so well with power and drive. Very pleased to give him my BOB. Again, happy to watch the group judge give him a well deserved GP2.

2. Stevensons’ Lochlorien Scully Foxes Andley, RBOB –Liked this lady a lot, lovely in profile and moved out well and happily…

3. Lucas’ Shandwick Magic Moments Via Amberlight
