Critique - Judge Colin Wheeldon (Colemist)

Thank you to the committee for inviting to judge at this well run and friendly show and a big thank you too all the exhibitors for entering under me.  Unfortunately the  weather wasn’t that good for us rather a bit wet at times though it was mine and exhibitors wishes to continue to judge outside.

Irish Setters

Puppy 5

Nice class of promising puppies spoilt for choice, close decision of first three.

1st Parsons Braidmount Lady of the Lake at Bransett
One lovely bitch, with very pretty and appealing head, nice dark eye, low set ears. Correct neck and shoulder placement with good angulation both fore and aft. Loved her shaped, nice tight feet, lovely gentle sloping topline, good turn of stifle moved fairly well bit erratic at times but was certainly enjoying her day out. Pleased to award her BP and delighted to see her go Puppy Group 1 and RBPIS

2nd Williams & Heron Caskeys Solar Eclipse at Bluesprings
Another nice puppy dog similar comments to above just preferred the bitch’s outline

3rd Williams Caskeys Sometime with Bluesprings

Graduate 2 (1)

1st   Hoskins Sandstream Just a Breeze
Stood alone but well deserved 1st place. Nice handsome masculine boy not overly done. Lovely head and expression with good dark eye.  Nice low set ear placement, good reach of neck and shoulder placement, good angulations , well bodied with deep chest, good gentle sloping topline, good turn of stifle. In good coat and moved well. Gave away to maturated for RBOB sure his time will come.

Open 2

1st Wilkins Margaretswood Gobstopper BOB Group 4
Lovely masculine boy with a balanced outline. Lovely head nice oval skull. Good clean dark eye with typical Irish expression. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders leading to good front angulation. Correct gentle sloping topline  with good tailset which he used to advantage on the move. Well bodied and deep chest, good turn of stifle and in good coat. Moved covering the ground well. Must admit wasn’t overly keen on him as a youngster but wow how this boy has changed and turned into one handsome and lovely boy. He is certainly not overdone in anyway.  Pleased to award him BOB and delighted to see he went on to Group 4.
