Irish Setters.

I would like to thank the society for the invitation to judge Irish Setters at their very enjoyable evening show and further thanks must go to my daughter Alex, for stewarding so ably for me. Unfortunately the entry suffered from a high absentee rate but nevertheless I was very pleased with both my Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed.

Puppy 5, 3abs

1st Morriss-Begg, Susie Snapshot by Thendara. A balanced and proportionate 8 months bitch, elegant in profile. While her head will continue to develop, she has a dark coloured almond shaped eye and a cheeky expression. Her good reach of neck is set smoothly into well angulated shoulders. Good depth of brisket, carrying just the right amount of weight over her well sprung ribs. She is nicely muscled and her correctly set tail was used happily on the move BPIB.

2nd Pallister, Penwyn Rainbows End.

Junior 2, 2abs

Post-Graduate 5, 4abs

1st Crowther, Penwyn Gointo San Fransisco. A rangy 2 ½ year old dog. His head is not my cup of tea but he has a good reach of neck, a nice sloping topline and good depth of brisket. His correct flat, straight coat is beautifully presented.

Open 3, 2abs

1st Heppell, Deevonville Santana. There is so much I like about this upstanding mature male. He is just lovely to look at in profile. He has a beautiful head with dark eyes, melting expression and low set ears. His muscular neck flows smoothly into good shoulders and he has matching angles fore and hind. He has a straight front, good bone and neat feet. He is deep in chest and is generally strongly muscled all through. He maintained a firm sloping topline as he powered around the ring.

His full dark coat was beautifully prepared and presented. BOB.
