Critique - Judges: Miss Jenna Sturrock
Firstly, I would like to extend my utmost thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge this lovely show. It was a real pleasure. Many thanks to all for their hospitality and the lovely lunch which was provided.
The venue for this open show is truly lovely and the weather was very kind to us all on the day. The sun was shining and our Irish’s lovely red chestnut coats really do look a picture in the summer sun.
Many thanks must also go to my two lovely stewards for the day, Gemma Gisby and Anthony Allan.
Minor Puppy Dog (1, 1abs)
Puppy Dog (4, 1abs)
1st. Teleri Summer Nights (AI) Nice young dog. Coat was of lovely colour and condition and he was presented well. He has a pleasant head with a kind eye. Good straight front and has moderate bend of stifle for his age. He was at one with his handler and moved out well.
2nd Danaway Desert Song Longer cast dog than 1 and slightly bigger made boy all though, but he is not course. He has a kind eye but I preferred the overall head of 1. He was presented in lovely coat and condition. Well angulated fore and aft. He is not as together on the move at the moment but I am sure this will come with age.
3rd Goldnavarm Endurance at Shanoah
Junior Dog (5, 1abs)
1st Lynwood Hocus Pocus with Settesoli Now 12 months of age, this young boy is really starting to come together. He is really well made and truly comes to life on the move. He holds his topline well and in profile he is a picture, striding out and driving through the rear. He is well angulated and has a lovely tail set. Standing he just flows and has a lovely outline.
2nd Anlory Duncan 14 month old boy who was close up to 1. I preferred the head of this boy. He has lovely unshelled almond shaped eye and a real melting expression with well raised brows. Lovely low set ears. He is not as long as 1, but really well bodied for his age. He has a lovely return of upper arm and forechest. He was not as settled on the move as 1 today.
3rd Gwendariff in the Limelight with Gilliegrae
Yearling Dog (4, 1 abs)
1st Anlory Duncan
2nd Gwendariff in the Limlight with Gilliegrae 3rd in yearling and there is a lot to like about this boy. Not the tallest, but he is a well made dog. He was in lovely coat and condition. He is well angled, allowing him to move out well with his handler. He is slightly broader in skull than I would like, but not unpleasant.

He has a gorgeous head, with a lovely dark eye, raised brows and a melting expression. He is really well angulated fore and aft and presents a lovely balanced picture when stood right. He has a lovely gently sloping topline and his tail comes off just below the level of his back. He moved out well with his handler and it was a pleasure to award him Best Dog and subsequently Best in Show.
2nd Anlory Aiden JW A different type of boy to 1 but there lots to like about him. He is stronger in the head than one, but he is not unpleasant. He has a lovely expression and well raised brows. His ears are set on low and he has a strong neck leading into well laid back shoulders. He has lovely cat like feet. I have watched this boy from a young age and he has really matured over the last 6 months or so dropping into his rear quarters. He has good rear movement, moving around the ring with ease. Reserve Best Dog.
3rd Sandstream Just A Breeze with Ralphski
Limit Dog (1, 0)
1st Caskeys Mischief of Stylersetts JW – Stood alone but this did not detract from the many qualities which this boy has. He has the most gorgeous head an expression. Lovely raised brows and low set ears. He has moderate angulation fore and aft and has a lovely gently sloping topline. He does not carry a lot of coat, however coat is not everything and this does not detract from his lovely picture.
