Critique - Judges: Miss J. Gilbert ( Breed)

I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to Judge at their show and my two Stewards who were very efficient. I had a very enjoyable day and was delighted that my Irish Setter BOB went on to win Best In Show.

ENGLISH SETTERS

Junior 2

1. Tucker’s Niddbeck Smokey Opal At Walshaw.

This was a very close decision between these two lovely bitches.   Both were feminine and well constructed, with lovely soft, gentle expressions. However, I felt the winner had slightly better bone and was more accurate fore and aft. For me she also had better upper arm angulation. She was very happy on the move.

2. Bishop’s Sorbus Plays The Fool At Dyrham.

Post Graduate 2

1. Atyeo’s Samelen Golden Taffeta

Orange Belton bitch with beautifully balance construction and feminine head and expression. Lovely reach of neck leading into good shoulders. Good spring of rib and length to loin. Moved OK. BOB on movement.

2. Jolley’s Anlory Burano Via Jolymore

Open 5 (2)

1. Atyeo’s Samelen Harris Tweed

Litter Brother to winner of Post Graduate and shares similar qualities. Very handsome young man with lots to like. Lovely balanced head with low set ears. Good eye shape and soft gentle expression. Good forequarters, deep through brisket and well ribbed up. Nice small tight feet and held his topline on the move. In good coat and condition.

2. Tucker’s Walshaw Date with Destiny.

3. Lenzi’s Pilsdon Flash in The Pan.

Refined head with plenty of work in skull with just the right amount of masculinity. Correct unshelled almond shape to eye with soft melting expression . Pronounced prosternum and deep chest with a good spring of rib. Strong loin leading into powerful hindquarters which he used well on the move. He moved with purpose and drive maintaining his topline.
